About the role

Responsibilities:
- Design and implement scalable backend services that support billing workflows, energy-market communications, and accounting integrations.
- Build clean APIs and Next.js backend routes to expose services to internal and external consumers.
- Scale core infrastructure to handle growing transaction volumes and market demands.
- Ship features quickly through iterative development, tests, and automated deployments.
- Improve technical quality via code reviews, architecture discussions, and mentoring teammates.

Requirements:
- 3+ years of production backend engineering experience with recent shipping history.
- Strong TypeScript and Node.js skills, including async programming patterns.
- Practical experience with PostgreSQL and ORM/data-access tools (Drizzle or similar).
- Experience building backend functionality with Next.js (API routes / server components).
- Understanding of distributed systems and designing maintainable, scalable services.
- Solid CS fundamentals (algorithms, data structures, system design).
- Evidence of strong technical ability (projects, research, startups, competitions).
- German fluency at C1+; Stripe/integrated payments and billing experience is a plus.
