Responsibilities:
- Own end-to-end backend projects for real-time voice AI agents, from product decisions to production delivery.
- Build and operate voice AI systems: retrieval-augmented generation, dynamic model routing, and transcription validation.
- Design and run distributed call-scheduling infrastructure handling concurrency, time zones, retries, provider limits, and failures.
- Maintain consistent context across real-time calls and asynchronous channels (voice, messaging, email).
- Implement memory and reasoning features so agents track customer workflows across interactions.
- Create internal tools for agent configuration, diagnostics, and integrations with business systems.
- Improve observability and resilience: tracing, metrics, and incident triage to find root causes.
Requirements:
- 2+ years building and shipping production software, including operating distributed systems in production.
- Production experience with Python and/or TypeScript and frameworks like FastAPI; familiarity with data stores (PostgreSQL, Redis).
- Practical knowledge of distributed and real-time systems, audio/voice infrastructure, or production AI/agent systems.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and workflow orchestration or message queues.
- Comfortable with observability tooling and testing/validating model and transcription changes.
- Strong software fundamentals, bias toward action, and focus on business outcomes and reliable AI products.
- Helpful: familiarity with LiveKit, Node.js, React, Bun, Fastify, Temporal, OpenTelemetry.
