Responsibilities:
- Design and implement an ontology-aligned data model and its technical representation (database schema, versioning, documentation).
- Develop automated ETL pipelines to ingest, validate and transform diverse service and metadata sources into the knowledge base.
- Collaborate with domain experts and Euro-BioImaging Nodes to translate service descriptions into controlled vocabularies/ontologies.
- Integrate semantic metadata (identifiers/PIDs, provenance, controlled vocabularies) and enforce validation/QA rules.
- Build and maintain APIs and query layers optimized for LLM/Research Navigator use (reliable, transparent, and performant).
- Support testing, integration, release planning, and documentation; maintain CI/CD and deployment assets.

Requirements:
- MSc/PhD or equivalent experience in data science, computer science, bioinformatics, information systems or related field.
- Strong Python skills and proven experience with structured databases (Postgres) and graph/knowledge stores.
- Familiarity with ontology/semantic-web standards and tools (RDF, SPARQL, SHACL) and knowledge-graph modelling.
- Experience building ETL workflows, validation pipelines and API layers for heterogeneous scientific data sources.
- Good software engineering practices: version control, CI/CD, documentation, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes) preferred.
- Collaborative attitude, strong communication skills and experience working with research communities and domain experts.
