About the role
Responsibilities:
- Develop, deploy and maintain scalable data pipelines and aggregations (including the core session-level dataset).
- Design data models and layouts that make datasets easy to discover and use across analytics, product and ML teams.
- Build and run data validations and monitoring to protect data quality and surface issues early.
- Optimize large-scale batch and streaming jobs; automate workflows using schedulers like Airflow.
- Analyze consumer needs and translate them into dataset schemas, ETL logic and documentation.
- Collaborate with teammates, pick up backlog tasks, and document designs so others can build on your work.
Requirements:
- Hands-on experience building and maintaining data pipelines and models using Python and SQL.
- Familiarity with workflow schedulers (e.g., Airflow) and cloud data warehouses (e.g., BigQuery).
- Ownership mindset: identify root causes, propose redesigns, and follow through beyond assigned tickets.
- Strong verbal and written communication; able to challenge requests constructively and propose alternatives.
- Curious, growth-oriented attitude and a performance mindset: set ambitious goals and iterate on solutions.
