Responsibilities:
- Lead, coach and grow the Community Engineering team (currently 3 engineers); set priorities, clarify scope and establish performance expectations.
- Support contributors end-to-end: triage contributions, run reviews, guide fixes and merge high-quality community PRs.
- Design and own contributor-facing processes, tooling and feedback loops to scale community-driven development.
- Collaborate closely with product engineering (especially Nodes team) to convert community work into reliable product value.
- Increase team leverage via automation, documentation, templates and reproducible workflows.
- Hire, onboard and define success metrics for the team; maintain quality standards across community-led work.

Requirements:
- Proven engineering management experience with teams shipping production software.
- Hands-on technical credibility: comfortable reviewing TypeScript/Node.js code, PRs, CI and release workflows.
- Experience with open-source communities, contributor workflows and GitHub-based collaboration.
- Strong systems thinking and process-improvement skills to remove friction for external contributors.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills; experience working with product and developer relations.
- Comfort operating in a fast-moving, remote-first environment and coaching engineers to be effective at scale.
