ML/AI Platform Engineer at Monzo

Responsibilities:
- Design, build and operate platform services that enable teams to train, evaluate, deploy and serve ML/AI models.
- Develop backend services, Python libraries, model lifecycle tooling, evaluation workflows and low-latency serving systems.
- Ensure platform reliability, observability, safety and low latency for production ML features (fraud checks, credit decisions, etc.).
- Collaborate closely with ML engineers, data scientists and product teams to improve workflows, tooling and experimentation.
- Contribute to infrastructure and automation (Kubernetes, Terraform, cloud providers) and to open-source components where relevant.

Requirements:
- Strong software engineering foundations with experience building platform services for ML/AI workloads.
- Proficiency in Go and Python and hands-on experience with Kubernetes and cloud platforms (AWS/GCP).
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform), proxies (Envoy) and distributed systems design.
- Knowledge of model serving, feature stores, experiment tracking and model lifecycle management.
- Track record of delivering observable, low-latency, reliable production systems and effective cross-team communication.
