Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain internal developer tools, APIs and automation to improve build, test and deployment workflows.
- Build and operate CI/CD pipelines and containerised deployment patterns (GitLab, Kubernetes) for large-scale HPC workloads.
- Implement infrastructure-as-code and configuration management improvements (Terraform, Helm, Puppet) where required.
- Support and improve platform services (GitLab, Kubernetes clusters, Puppet-managed environments, OpenStack-backed infra).
- Create and enhance monitoring, logging and debugging tooling to improve service reliability and operational visibility.
- Collaborate with platform owners, engineers and researchers to identify pain points and deliver pragmatic automation to reduce toil.

Requirements:
- Practical software development experience in Go, Python or C++ and a strong Linux background.
- Hands-on experience with containers, Kubernetes and CI/CD tooling (GitLab or similar).
- Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code, configuration management and cloud/OpenStack environments.
- Experience with observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK) and production troubleshooting.
- Good scripting, automation and API development skills; ability to write maintainable, testable code.
- Collaborative mindset, pragmatic problem-solving and willingness to support operational duties for platform services.
