About the role
Responsibilities:
- Partner with engineering teams to design and deliver scalable systems meeting strict latency, availability and throughput goals.
- Create paved paths: reusable infrastructure, IaC patterns and automation that make it easy to deploy and observe applications across environments.
- Build reproducible systems using Terraform and other automation tools; ensure consistency across staging and production.
- Operate and evolve Kubernetes-based container orchestration in a cloud-first environment.
- Diagnose systemic performance or reliability issues and drive improvements; mentor peers and share engineering best practices.
Requirements:
- Professional experience with at least one language such as Python, Kotlin or Go.
- Strong fundamentals in distributed systems, systems engineering and networking.
- Proven use of infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform) and automation to build reproducible systems.
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes in cloud environments.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with stakeholders to derive requirements and drive decisions.
- High ownership mentality and experience mentoring or enabling other engineers.
