Responsibilities:
- Define and drive technical direction and architecture for European products within the existing Toast technology stack.
- Deliver end-to-end solutions: design and implement UI, backend services, and APIs with a focus on quality and scalability.
- Establish architectural standards, API conventions, and delivery principles that influence multiple teams.
- Mentor engineers, promote inclusive engineering practices, and raise team-wide technical capability.
- Partner with product, design, and cross-functional leaders to align technical solutions with business priorities.
- Ensure operational excellence: observability, performance, reliability, and scalable delivery processes.

Requirements:
- 8+ years of software engineering experience with strong full-stack expertise.
- Proficient in Java/Kotlin and object-oriented design; track record building customer-facing systems.
- Experience with modern web and API technologies (React, REST, GraphQL) and end-to-end delivery.
- Proven experience leading or influencing large, cross-team platform initiatives and setting technical direction.
- Comfortable with relational and non-relational data stores, system design, cloud services, and performance trade-offs.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and mentorship skills.
