About the role
Responsibilities:
- Define MicroLED product specifications by translating customer needs into clear, actionable inputs for engineering; manage trade-offs between performance, manufacturability and timing.
- Develop and maintain product and feature roadmaps aligned to customer programmes, market needs and Plessey's technology strategy (including AR and emerging optical interconnects).
- Act as the Voice of the Customer: capture and prioritise customer and market signals and represent them in development planning and technical decisions.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams and external partners to ensure manufacturability, NPI readiness and alignment between engineering delivery and customer expectations.
- Engage directly with major customers: present product definitions, roadmaps and capability updates; handle queries and technical discussions.
- Support the transition from development through NPI to scaled manufacturing and contribute to measures of product success.
Requirements:
- Proven product management experience in semiconductor, display or closely related technology; MicroLED or AR experience strongly preferred.
- Technical understanding of semiconductor/device performance, manufacturability and new product introduction processes.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills to align customers, partners and internal teams.
- Demonstrable experience developing roadmaps, translating VoC into requirements and driving cross-functional delivery.
- Degree in engineering, physical sciences or equivalent technical/commercial experience.
- Desirable: exposure to optical interconnect applications, global customer engagement and experience with NPI and scaled manufacturing.
