Senior Backend Kotlin / Java Software Engineer - Client Technology (m/f/x) at Scalable GmbH

Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and operate secure, reliable, and scalable backend services using Kotlin/Java and cloud-native patterns.
- Build and maintain client-facing systems across authentication, onboarding, consent, engagement, and support tooling.
- Develop REST/GraphQL APIs, ensure strong test coverage, and follow best practices for maintainability and observability.
- Collaborate with product, frontend, and platform teams to deliver features end-to-end and participate in architecture decisions.
- Run services in AWS using modern DevOps practices (CI/CD, Docker, monitoring, incident response) and optimize performance.

Requirements:
- Strong professional experience with Kotlin and/or Java and production microservices (5+ years preferred).
- Proven knowledge of REST/GraphQL APIs, JWT, SQL and NoSQL databases, and cloud services (AWS experience preferred).
- Familiarity with containerization (Docker), Git workflows, automated testing, and DevOps/observability tooling.
- Solid system design, security-aware coding practices, and experience operating services in production.
- Degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience.
