Responsibilities:
- Lead applied data science work on impact evaluation and behavioural insight projects.
- Work with complex, messy datasets: cleaning, EDA, feature engineering and reproducible workflows.
- Conduct statistical and causal analyses (difference-in-differences, matching, regression-based designs) and interpret findings for policy questions.
- Develop and test AI-enabled analytic workflows that follow good evaluation practice.
- Draft analytical sections of reports and proposals and present findings to clients and stakeholders.
- Collaborate across teams (policy researchers, evaluators, technical colleagues) to deliver robust evidence for decision-making.
Requirements:
- Strong quantitative background in data science, statistics, economics, behavioural science, psychology or related social science.
- Several years of professional experience applying data science in policy analysis, impact evaluation, consulting or applied research.
- Proficiency in Python for data analysis and experience building reproducible analytical pipelines.
- Practical experience with causal inference methods and counterfactual reasoning (DiD, regression designs, matching, etc.).
- Strong communication skills for translating technical results to non-technical audiences and for client-facing work.
- Desirable: experience with generative AI tools, behavioural science techniques, and prior public sector or evaluation projects.
