Responsibilities:
- Design and build standard Azure Databricks ELT solutions for customer integration pipelines.
- Own ELT products that extract, transform and load data into Sievo’s Procurement Data Schema.
- Apply software engineering practices: Git workflows, CI/CD, automated testing and reproducible production code.
- Improve tooling for data engineers: deployment templates, reproducible environments and IaC for cloud resources.
- Implement monitoring, data quality checks and validations to ensure trustworthy data.
- Reduce manual work by automating common tasks, improving scalability, robustness and cost-efficiency.
- Gather technical requirements, communicate trade-offs and take deliverables through to production.
- Troubleshoot platform issues and fix root causes to maintain stable integrations at scale.
Requirements:
- Several years of data engineering experience with Azure and Databricks in production.
- Strong Python and SQL skills and experience building ELT/data pipelines at scale.
- Solid software engineering practices: version control, CI/CD, automated testing and reproducibility.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code, cloud resource design (permissions, deployments, cost controls) and security considerations.
- Knowledge of data quality frameworks, monitoring and validation strategies.
- Comfortable collaborating across data engineers, software engineers and product stakeholders.
- Focus on scalable, maintainable solutions and a track record of reducing operational toil.
