Responsibilities:
- Own architecture, development and quality of departmental Data Products and ELT pipelines.
- Design, build and maintain scalable ELT using Databricks Delta Live Tables and the Medallion architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold).
- Define and align Data Contracts with source system owners and enforce data governance in Unity Catalog.
- Implement data security and access policies, and champion data quality, monitoring and RCA processes.
- Translate business requirements into de-normalised, performant lakehouse data models and support downstream consumers.
- Document patterns, share learnings and mentor engineers to foster a high-performance data culture.
Requirements:
- Extensive experience with Databricks ecosystem (Unity Catalog, Delta Live Tables, Workflows) and Delta Lake internals.
- Strong proficiency in Apache Spark (PySpark) and Python for large-scale streaming and batch processing.
- Practical experience with CDC patterns from RDBMS, scalable streaming/batch pipelines and Medallion architecture.
- Familiarity with IaC (Terraform), Docker, Git workflows and DevOps principles; cloud experience (AWS) required.
- Solid data modelling skills and ability to translate complex business logic into efficient lakehouse schemas.
- Strong communication skills and experience collaborating across product, engineering and platform teams.
