Responsibilities:
- Build user interfaces and backend services to support research workflows (tasks, reviews, file/video inspection, experiment comparison).
- Design and implement APIs and PostgreSQL data models for tasks, files, experiments and reviews.
- Integrate applications with data pipelines and object storage (S3), adding input validation, permission checks, and clear error handling.
- Collaborate with researchers and domain experts to gather feedback, reproduce and fix bugs, and iterate on workflows.
- Write tests, debug issues, and maintain performance as datasets and user load grow.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices for reliability and maintainability.
Requirements:
- Minimum ~3 years building and maintaining production applications used by other teams or customers.
- Strong TypeScript + React skills, or Python with a backend framework such as FastAPI; comfortable working across the stack.
- Experience designing REST/GraphQL APIs and modeling relational schemas in PostgreSQL.
- Practical testing and debugging skills; experience collaborating directly with users to refine features.
- Experience with annotation tools, research software or large-dataset interfaces is a plus.
- Familiarity with AWS/S3, background job processing and frontend testing frameworks is desirable.
