Responsibilities:
- Maintain and improve reliability of core systems that dispatch grid-scale assets, trade energy and serve real-time data.
- Build and maintain secure, resilient connections to physical assets (solar, wind, batteries) and associated networking/VPN setups.
- Implement and enforce security best practices across the engineering team (least-privilege, secure dev environments, audits).
- Operate and evolve data infrastructure: performance, cost-efficiency, ETL pipelines and internal data tools.
- Build and maintain infrastructure as code, observability, alerting and incident response processes.
- Review code, contribute to architecture decisions and raise the team’s operational and reliability bar.

Requirements:
- Experience shipping production backend services; strong debugging and operational mindset.
- Hands-on with cloud platforms (GCP preferred), Kubernetes, and IaC tools (Terraform, ArgoCD or similar).
- Familiarity with databases (Postgres/TimescaleDB), monitoring (Prometheus/Grafana/Loki) and data warehouses (BigQuery).
- Good understanding of security, networking and secure device connectivity.
- Comfortable with autonomy, pragmatic trade-offs and collaborating closely with product and CTO.
- Eagerness to learn domain-specific systems (energy) and to drive pragmatic, reliable solutions.
