Responsibilities:
- Design and operate backend services that orchestrate multiple TTS providers and in-house voice models to deliver consistent voice synthesis.
- Build robustness layers (retries, throttling, failover) and request routing to handle provider variability and maintain quality.
- Implement persistence and caching strategies so regenerated outputs remain consistent and reproducible.
- Improve storage, retrieval, and reuse of voice assets; add telemetry for quality and performance monitoring.
- Collaborate with frontend, product, and R&D teams to shape APIs and user-facing workflows.
- Lead initiatives for voice discovery and recommendation, including evaluation systems and observability.

Requirements:
- Several years building and operating backend systems in production; strong Python and FastAPI (or similar) experience.
- Experience designing reliable, observable distributed services and working with third-party APIs.
- Solid understanding of persistence, caching, and strategies to ensure output consistency across regenerations.
- Product-oriented mindset: ability to connect backend work to user experience and product metrics.
- Familiarity with observability tooling (Datadog, metrics, tracing) and cloud infrastructure best practices.
