Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain mapping and geospatial services that process high-throughput coordinate streams and produce low-latency ETAs.
- Implement map-matching, routing and spatial-intelligence microservices, prioritising performance and correctness.
- Migrate mapping logic from legacy systems and design robust APIs for downstream consumers.
- Collaborate with data scientists and product to validate algorithms, handle noisy GPS data and improve accuracy.
- Ensure production reliability through testing, observability, capacity planning and incident response.
Requirements:
- 3+ years building backend systems (5+ for senior candidates) and at least ~1 year hands-on with geospatial/mapping work.
- Proficiency in Go preferred; strong engineering fundamentals in other languages accepted.
- Experience with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis and message brokers (RabbitMQ/Kafka).
- Knowledge of map-matching, routing algorithms or working with road network graphs and noisy GPS data.
- Comfortable communicating technical trade-offs in English (B2+). Nice-to-have: OSRM experience, C++ proficiency or familiarity with OpenStreetMap datasets.
