Responsibilities:
- Architect, develop and maintain high-performance microservices in Go.
- Lead migration efforts from the Ruby monolith to a microservices architecture.
- Partner with product, design and data teams to convert requirements into robust technical designs.
- Improve system observability, reliability and latency through profiling, testing and operational runbooks.
- Promote engineering best practices: TDD, DDD, CI/CD and code reviews.
- Support on-call rotations, incident response and capacity planning.
Requirements:
- 6+ years of experience building and running scalable backend systems in production.
- Strong Go skills preferred; demonstrated engineering fundamentals if experienced in other languages (Python, C++, Ruby).
- Proven experience with PostgreSQL and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Redis).
- Familiarity with message brokers (RabbitMQ or Kafka) and RPC frameworks (gRPC/Thrift).
- Experience operating services on AWS and Kubernetes; knowledge of Terraform is a plus.
- Good English communication skills (Upper-Intermediate B2+) for design discussions and stakeholder collaboration.
