Responsibilities:
- Write clean, well-tested, high-performance backend services primarily in Go.
- Design and implement new microservices and APIs; help migrate functionality from the Ruby monolith.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers and data scientists to translate requirements into technical designs and deliverables.
- Improve system reliability and latency: profiling, load testing, and targeted optimisations.
- Follow and promote TDD, DDD, CI/CD and maintainable engineering practices.
- Operate and troubleshoot services on AWS and Kubernetes; work with Terraform-managed infrastructure.
Requirements:
- 3+ years building and operating scalable backend services.
- Strong engineering fundamentals; Go experience preferred (we will interview in your strongest language if needed).
- Practical experience with relational and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis).
- Experience with message brokers (RabbitMQ or Kafka) and RPC frameworks (gRPC, Thrift desirable).
- Familiarity with AWS, Kubernetes and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform).
- Comfortable communicating technical trade-offs in English (B2+).
