Engineering Manager, Checkout & Payments at Superhuman

Responsibilities:
- Lead a team responsible for checkout surfaces, payment vendor integrations, fraud prevention, and the reliability of the checkout/payments API.
- Partner with product and engineering leads across Docs, Go, Grammarly, and Mail to scope, prioritize, and deliver checkout features.
- Own and track business and technical health metrics for the team (reliability, latency, conversion, fraud rates, etc.).
- Drive integrations for global payment methods and ensure coverage and compliance across regions.
- Mentor and develop senior engineers to build technical leadership and ownership within the team.
- Contribute to unifying billing, checkout, and payments infrastructure into a single Monetization Platform.

Requirements:
- 3+ years managing engineering teams (typically 5–10 engineers) with hands-on technical leadership.
- Strong architectural judgment and experience evaluating trade-offs for platform and infrastructure work.
- Familiarity with payment integrations, fraud prevention strategies, and global payments ecosystems.
- Experience operating high-stakes, reliability-focused systems and tracking technical health metrics.
- Excellent cross-functional communication and stakeholder management to align product and business goals.
- Comfort operating in a fast-moving, founding-moment environment and driving execution under ambiguity.
