Responsibilities:
- Design, deploy, operate, and maintain secure, scalable, and highly available infrastructure for the MD4SB project.
- Act as a bridge between IT Services and the Molecular Modelling & Bioinformatics group to support platform needs.
- Build and operate distributed database services and platform components with a focus on reliability and observability.
- Automate repetitive operations, document procedures, and contribute to architecture and operational standards.
- Implement security-by-design practices: system hardening, access control, patching, logging, backups, and recovery validation.

Requirements:
- Strong Linux systems administration experience (installation, configuration, troubleshooting, patching, service management).
- Solid understanding of infrastructure and networking fundamentals: DNS, TLS, firewalls, load balancing, routing, VPNs, and storage.
- Experience with virtualization platforms (VMware, Proxmox, OpenStack, Hyper-V, or similar).
- Familiarity with security best practices including privilege management, logging, backup validation, and secure configuration.
- Nice-to-have: MongoDB production administration, infrastructure-as-code, container technologies, Kubernetes, PostgreSQL, Redis, MinIO/S3, RabbitMQ/Kafka, and monitoring/observability tools.
