Platform Engineering Manager at Homeprotect

Responsibilities:
- Own strategy and roadmap for the internal developer platform; shift focus from tickets to product-led adoption and self-service metrics.
- Build, coach and scale the platform team; hire, line-manage and develop engineers and embed them with delivery teams.
- Define and operate the embed model: enablement, knowledge transfer and ongoing support while promoting self-service.
- Deliver paved roads: Terraform modules, environment provisioning, CI/CD scaffolding, on-demand dev/test databases, API scaffolds and observability tooling.
- Own platform reliability: define SLOs, runbooks, incident response and operational resilience across multi-cloud (Azure/GCP) and hybrid estates.
- Embed security and compliance into golden paths to meet regulated requirements without blocking delivery.
- Drive platform consolidation and modernisation, prioritise migrations and reduce cognitive load for delivery teams.
- Manage stakeholders, measure adoption (DORA and product metrics) and communicate roadmap progress to engineering and business leaders.

Requirements:
- Proven hands-on leader with experience building internal developer platforms, platform teams or SRE/DevOps organisations.
- Strong technical background in cloud (Azure, GCP), IaC (Terraform), CI/CD systems and observability stacks.
- Experience running SLOs, incident response and operational resilience practices at scale.
- Product-led mindset: focus on adoption, usability and measurable self-service outcomes rather than ticket counts.
- Experience in regulated environments and embedding security/compliance into platform workflows (FCA or equivalent desirable).
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication and people coaching skills.
