Responsibilities:
- Architect, build and maintain scalable backend services using Java, Spring Boot, Kafka and PostgreSQL in an event-driven microservices environment.
- Define and enforce API standards (RESTful, OpenAPI/Swagger, OAuth2) and produce developer tools, SDKs and reference implementations.
- Own API product quality: improve developer experience, security, documentation and integration reliability for partners.
- Provide technical leadership: mentor engineers, run code reviews, influence domain modelling (DDD) and cross-team alignment.
- Work with Product, Solutions and Implementation teams to shape features and support partner integrations globally (some travel required).

Requirements:
- Proven experience designing and operating public APIs and developer platforms (OpenAPI/Swagger, OAuth2) for partners or customers.
- Strong backend skills in Java and Spring Boot plus experience with messaging/event systems (Kafka or similar) and relational DBs (PostgreSQL).
- Understanding of distributed systems patterns, DDD, scalability and high-availability design.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for cross-organisational impact and stakeholder interaction.
- Experience with API security, developer tooling and delivering high-quality documentation and SDKs.
