About the role

Responsibilities:
- Design, implement and maintain backend services and APIs primarily in Python; contribute to Node.js/TypeScript services as needed.
- Deliver end-to-end features: data models, service architecture, and React/TypeScript user interfaces.
- Make pragmatic architectural choices to improve reliability, security, maintainability and performance.
- Integrate internal applications, production systems and external services; participate in deployments and cloud operations.
- Troubleshoot, monitor and optimize services in production; contribute to CI/CD, observability and incident response.
- Lead code reviews, write technical documentation and mentor engineers; gradually take on coordination duties to keep team priorities visible.

Requirements:
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with strong backend expertise in Python.
- Practical experience with FastAPI (or similar), SQLAlchemy (or equivalent), and relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL).
- Familiarity with Node.js/TypeScript and React for full-stack delivery.
- Experience with cloud environments, CI/CD pipelines, containerization and deployment tooling.
- Strong debugging, system design and cross-team collaboration skills; good written and verbal communication.
