Responsibilities:
- Design and implement backend systems for an AI-powered revenue platform (quoting, billing, revenue recognition).
- Build configurable approval workflows and translate natural-language rules into deterministic, auditable business logic.
- Develop autonomous collections agents and orchestration for automated receivables workflows.
- Re-architect and scale billing pipelines (storage, horizontal scalability, cost/performance trade-offs) to support 10x throughput.
- Own reliability and correctness of event-driven pipelines; ensure no lost events and high availability during peak/month-end loads.
- Collaborate with product, data, and frontend teams; take end-to-end ownership from design to production and monitoring.

Requirements:
- Strong backend engineering experience (several years building production systems) with ownership of end-to-end delivery.
- Experience with distributed systems, event streams, and designing for scale and reliability.
- Familiarity with technologies like Kotlin (or similar), Postgres, BigQuery, GCP, Pub/Sub, and Terraform preferred.
- Good judgment balancing cost, performance, and operational complexity; experience in financial or billing systems is a plus.
- Product-oriented mindset: direct customer impact, shipping quickly, and iterating based on feedback.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills in a small, fast-moving team.
