Responsibilities:
- Own and deliver quarterly technical goals for the Card Acquisition team.
- Define long-term technical strategy and lead engineers through ambiguous, open-ended problems.
- Partner with product, design and analytics to translate requirements, articulate constraints, and make trade-offs.
- Ensure operational excellence: implement monitoring, alerts, runbooks, testing, triage rotations and on-call readiness.
- Raise engineering quality: set code-review and design standards, present technical guidance, and mentor senior engineers.
- Proactively identify and remove project, process or tech blockers that impact delivery and reliability.

Requirements:
- 4+ years building backend systems at scale using Python or Kotlin.
- Hands-on experience with highly available distributed systems (AWS, MySQL, Kubernetes).
- Strong system design skills: produce simple, extensible architectures and make safe large-codebase changes.
- Familiarity with monitoring, deployment safety, testing strategies and on-call practices.
- Demonstrated collaboration skills across product/design/analytics and experience mentoring peers.
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity and owning delivery, operations and technical trade-offs.
