Responsibilities:
- Design and implement robust, scalable services (APIs, CLIs, software modules) to power scientific applications.
- Integrate ML inference servers, hardware interfaces, and data pipelines into cohesive, low-latency systems.
- Own the full production lifecycle: architecture, coding, automated tests, benchmarking, CI/CD, deployment, and observability.
- Ensure high availability, security, performance, and operational transparency for production services.
- Collaborate closely with Data Engineers, AI Scientists, Software Engineers and Domain Experts to deliver integrated solutions.
- Advocate and implement software engineering best practices: code quality, testing, documentation, and reproducible workflows.
Requirements:
- MSc or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field.
- Extensive production experience building distributed systems with strong proficiency in Python.
- Hands-on experience designing and exposing clean, well-documented APIs (REST, gRPC) and integrating ML models into services.
- Proven experience with CI/CD, deployment automation, and reproducible development workflows.
- Familiarity with cloud and container orchestration (Kubernetes), observability tooling, and performance tuning.
- Strong communicator comfortable explaining architecture and trade-offs to multi-disciplinary teams.
- Desirable: experience with distributed compute frameworks (Ray, Spark), GitOps, automated testing at scale, and hardware-edge integrations.
