Responsibilities:
- Develop and operate a modern Search Engine backend using Node.js and TypeScript.
- Implement search and NLP-driven features to improve relevance, ranking and retrieval speed.
- Build scalable, low-latency APIs and integrate with BigQuery and BI/data platform systems.
- Collaborate with product, QA, analytics and senior developers to define architecture and ship features.
- Investigate search outcomes, propose technical fixes and improve observability and monitoring.

Requirements:
- 3+ years backend development experience and 2+ years building scalable APIs (Node.js, Python or Go).
- Practical experience with typed languages (TypeScript) and strong SQL/NoSQL knowledge.
- Proven ability to write clean, maintainable code and keep codebase quality high.
- Strong analytical skills and curiosity to dig into why search behaves a certain way and translate findings into fixes.
- Comfortable working in English within agile teams.
- Nice to have: Elasticsearch/OpenSearch, dbt, MPP warehouses (BigQuery/Redshift), Datadog, cloud (AWS/GCP), orchestration (Dagster/Airflow), distributed data processing, ML/LLM experience.
