Responsibilities:
- Maintain and evolve a production FastAPI backend providing REST APIs for authentication, authorization, file processing, search and AI-assisted workflows.
- Design and execute database migrations using SQLAlchemy and Alembic against MySQL production instances.
- Build and improve AI-assisted features using LangChain and document embedding/processing pipelines.
- Contribute to the real-time collaborative editing service (Hocuspocus, Y.js, Node.js) and integrate with frontend needs.
- Ensure reliability through automated testing (pytest), observability and operational validation; prepare runbooks and collaborate with ops.

Requirements:
- Proficiency in Python and experience building REST APIs with FastAPI or equivalent frameworks.
- Experience with relational databases (MySQL or Postgres), ORMs (SQLAlchemy) and migration tooling (Alembic).
- Familiarity with caching and pub/sub systems (Redis) and comfortable reading/writing Node.js/JavaScript for backend components.
- Experience with AWS services (S3, IAM), Docker-based deployments, Git and automated testing frameworks (pytest).
- Understanding of software design patterns, engineering best practices and agile development workflows.
- Nice-to-have: experience with real-time protocols (WebSockets/CRDTs), search platforms (OpenSearch/Elasticsearch), authorization frameworks (Cerbos/OPA) and LLM tooling (LangChain).
