Responsibilities:
- Develop and enhance backend services (current codebase Java 17) using Spring Boot and cloud-native patterns.
- Translate ambiguous business requirements into technical specifications in collaboration with senior stakeholders.
- Implement and maintain microservices, event-driven systems, CQRS/hexagonal patterns where applicable.
- Write and maintain unit, component, integration, end-to-end, and performance tests.
- Build streaming solutions using Kafka and leverage AWS services for streaming and processing.
- Participate in CI/CD pipeline design and automation; follow secure coding and information security practices.
- Mentor junior engineers, participate in code reviews, and promote best practices for reliability and maintainability.

Requirements:
- 4–12 years of professional software engineering experience with strong Java skills (Java 8+; experience with Java 17 preferred).
- Practical experience with Kafka, Spring Boot, AWS, and relational databases (Postgres).
- Strong understanding of collections, multi-threading, concurrency, and common design patterns.
- Experience with CI/CD, testing strategies, and UNIX environments.
- Good communication skills and ability to work autonomously and collaboratively with stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (or equivalent experience).
- Nice to have: Java 21, Kafka Streams, Argo CD, GitLab CI, cloud migration experience, and BDD/Cucumber test automation.
