Responsibilities:
- Own end‑to‑end technical delivery for complex platform initiatives; remain hands‑on with architecture and code.
- Set technical direction, define engineering standards and best practices across the team.
- Mentor and coach junior and mid‑level engineers; lead code reviews and design discussions.
- Champion a test‑first culture: embed automated testing and TDD into CI/CD at scale.
- Drive continuous improvement in tooling, delivery methodology and operational practices.
- Engage with business analysts, stakeholders and production support to design robust, measurable solutions.
- Take ownership of production incidents and major outages; lead incident response and post‑incident remediation.
- Proactively identify, escalate and manage technical and delivery risks.
Requirements:
- Extensive hands‑on Java development experience delivering large, complex systems in production.
- Deep knowledge of automated testing practices, CI/CD pipelines and TDD at scale.
- Strong system design, cloud and data architecture experience (databases, messaging, queueing).
- Proven technical leadership and stakeholder management in a financial services or similar environment.
- Experience with observability/monitoring and production incident management.
- Excellent communication, mentoring ability and a track record of driving engineering improvements.
