Responsibilities:
- Perform exploratory data analysis to uncover patterns, anomalies and opportunities for modelling.
- Engineer features and prepare robust datasets for training and evaluation.
- Build, tune and validate supervised and unsupervised models; select metrics and run cross-validation.
- Apply statistical techniques (hypothesis testing, inference) to inform model choices and interpret results.
- Use experiment tracking and model management tools (MLflow, W&B, Databricks ML) to maintain reproducibility.
- Query and transform data using SQL; design visualizations with Matplotlib, Seaborn, Plotly or BI tools.
- Implement MLOps fundamentals: model versioning, registries and deployment best practices on cloud platforms.
- Communicate findings clearly to stakeholders and collaborate with Data teams to deploy solutions.
Requirements:
- 3–5 years experience in data science or related role; degree in a quantitative discipline preferred.
- Strong Python skills and familiarity with NumPy, Pandas and scikit-learn; experience with PyTorch/TensorFlow advantageous.
- Proficient in SQL, EDA and feature engineering for ML pipelines.
- Solid understanding of statistics, validation and experimental design.
- Experience with model tracking tools and cloud ML services (Azure ML, AWS SageMaker, GCP Vertex AI).
- Strong collaboration and communication skills; ability to translate technical insights into business recommendations.
