Mid/Senior Backend Engineer (Node.js, TypeScript) (m/f/x) at reisetopia GmbH

Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable backend services and REST/GraphQL APIs using Node.js and TypeScript.
- Build and maintain integrations with partners and third-party services (travel/hotel suppliers, payments, CRM).
- Design and optimise relational and NoSQL data models (SQL + MongoDB) for performance, integrity and reliability.
- Explore and integrate AI/LLM capabilities to add automation and intelligent features to the product.
- Contribute to architecture decisions, system design, and long-term scalability strategies.
- Ensure code quality via testing (unit/integration), code reviews, documentation and CI practices.
- Mentor junior engineers, share best practices, and drive continuous process improvements.

Requirements:
- 4+ years professional software engineering experience, with ≥3 years using TypeScript and Node.js in production.
- Strong SQL skills and practical experience with NoSQL (MongoDB); good data modelling experience.
- Proven experience building APIs and managing external integrations.
- Familiarity with testing frameworks and tooling (e.g., Jest, Selenium, Cypress) and CI/CD workflows.
- Solid understanding of software architecture, performance, security and maintainability.
- Good communication and collaboration skills; willingness to relocate to Berlin (visa/relocation support available).
