Pipeline Software Engineer at Kuva Space

Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain software components for the satellite ground segment pipeline (Level 0 → Level 2)
- Implement and optimize radiometric calibration, georeferencing, orthorectification, image validation, and quality control steps
- Build reliable, production-ready processing workflows that transform raw hyperspectral data into analysis-ready products
- Collaborate with data scientists, satellite engineers, and product teams to translate requirements into pipeline designs
- Write clean, testable code, participate in code reviews, and improve CI/CD, containerization, and cloud deployment practices
- Diagnose and resolve issues across processing workflows, metadata handling, and infrastructure as the constellation and product offering scale

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Physics, Remote Sensing, or related field
- 3+ years professional software development experience, preferably building production geospatial or image-processing systems
- Strong Python skills and hands-on experience with GDAL, Rasterio, OpenCV, NumPy, and Pandas; PyTorch experience is a plus
- Experience with PostgreSQL/PostGIS, Linux, containerization, CI/CD, and cloud platforms (GCP/AWS)
- Familiarity with remote sensing/hyperspectral data processing and satellite ground segment concepts preferred
- Able to work from Kuva Space HQ in Espoo or fully remote within ±3 hours of Eastern European Time
