Responsibilities:
- Design, implement and maintain backend services and REST APIs using Python and Django.
- Own features end-to-end: design, implementation, testing, deployment, and monitoring.
- Build and evolve background processing (Celery), agent orchestration, and RAG/LLM integrations.
- Develop data pipelines that power proactive, AI-driven product behavior.
- Work closely with CTO, founders and product to translate requirements into scalable systems.
- Improve reliability, performance and observability as traffic and member usage grows.
- Participate in on-site collaboration: at least one week per month in London; open to full relocation within 6 months.
Requirements:
- 5+ years building production backend systems with Python and Django.
- Strong SQL skills and experience designing schemas and APIs.
- Hands-on experience with background jobs (Celery or equivalent) and async processing.
- Experience integrating LLMs, RAG pipelines or similar AI infrastructure.
- Familiarity with cloud-native systems (GCP preferred), Terraform, and infrastructure as code.
- Proven ownership of features from idea to production and a focus on reliability and observability.
- Clear communicator comfortable working closely with founders and cross-functional teams.
