Responsibilities:
- Architect, build and maintain backend services and APIs with Python and Django.
- Own delivery end-to-end: design, implementation, testing, deployment and incident response.
- Maintain background processing, LLM integrations and agent orchestration for AI-driven features.
- Build and operate data pipelines and cloud infrastructure on GCP using Terraform and IaC.
- Improve reliability, scalability and observability as member usage grows.
- Collaborate closely with CTO, founders and product; attend at least one week per month in London and be open to relocation within 6 months.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of production experience in backend engineering with Python and Django.
- Strong SQL, API design and schema modeling skills.
- Experience with background jobs (Celery), async systems and LLM/AI integrations.
- Practical experience running cloud-native services on GCP and using Terraform.
- Demonstrated ownership of production features and a focus on monitoring/operational excellence.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a high-performance, fast-paced startup environment.
