Senior Backend Engineer — Data Platform & AI Agents at Jus Mundi

Responsibilities:
- Design and implement agentic ingestion pipelines that discover, acquire and normalize documents from many heterogeneous sources.
- Build and own the transactional catalog and its public API, modelling evolving legal documents with provenance and confidence metadata.
- Implement document processing: OCR, extraction, multilingual text processing, metadata enrichment and versioned derived data.
- Ensure quality at scale via test sets, confidence thresholds, regression tracking and measurable production validations (no manual gate).
- Deploy, instrument and operate services: logging, metrics, traces and tooling to reconstruct a document’s history end-to-end.
- Collaborate closely with Legal Content, Search, AI and Product teams to align correctness and consumer needs.

Requirements:
- 5+ years backend engineering experience with strong production Python skills.
- Practical experience with LLMs/agent orchestration and integrating them into backend workflows (not research-only).
- Deep knowledge of Postgres (including JSONB), data modelling for heterogeneous schemas and transactional systems.
- Solid system architecture and DevOps skills: Kubernetes, CI/CD, observability, scalability and failure-mode thinking.
- Familiarity with OCR, multilingual processing and building regenerable derived data pipelines.
- Strong ownership mindset: able to design APIs, operate services in production and work cross-functionally on product-quality requirements.
