Responsibilities:
- Architect and operate large-scale AWS network platforms (VPC design, Transit Gateway, PrivateLink, Direct Connect, hybrid VPNs).
- Lead automation and IaC efforts using Terraform; enforce modular, testable patterns for reusable components.
- Build tooling and automation in Python or Go to manage configuration, deployments and observability.
- Ensure resilient, secure connectivity for critical middleware and third-party integrations; implement network security controls (WAF, Network Firewall).
- Mentor and guide engineering teams on network best practices, incident response, and capacity planning.
- Drive cross-team initiatives to improve reliability, security posture and cost efficiency.
- Participate in on-call rotations, post-incident reviews and continuous improvement of runbooks and SLAs.
Requirements:
- Significant hands-on experience (senior level) with AWS networking services (EC2, VPC, Transit Gateway, PrivateLink, Route 53, CloudFront, ELB).
- Deep Terraform/IaC experience and familiarity with testing, CI/CD and policy-as-code workflows.
- Strong programming skills in Python or Go for automation and tooling development.
- Proven ability troubleshooting complex production network issues and designing secure hybrid connectivity (VPN, Direct Connect, IPsec).
- Experience with network security controls, observability and incident management in production.
- Excellent communication skills in English; ability to lead technical discussions and mentor peers.
- Based in Berlin or Munich; willingness to be on-call for critical incidents.
