Responsibilities:
- Develop scalable backend systems that handle high traffic, data and horizontal scaling requirements.
- Maintain and evolve a shared Rust component used by iOS and Android for networking, data synchronization and feature logic.
- Collaborate with mobile engineers to ensure consistent cross-platform behavior and unified codebase.
- Participate in feature design sessions, implement features end-to-end and own monitoring/incident triage.
- Contribute to tooling, architecture and continuous improvement efforts across the backend team.

Requirements:
- Production experience with Rust or strong background in systems languages (C++, C, OCaml).
- Hands-on experience with distributed systems and databases (Kafka/Redpanda, ScyllaDB/Cassandra or similar).
- Good instincts for consumer social products and how they scale and fail.
- Comfortable working onsite in Paris and taking ownership of central components.
- Willingness to collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and grow as a subject-matter expert.
