Responsibilities:
- Participate in on-call rotation for Kafka, Flink, Cassandra and Redis services; respond to incidents and follow recovery processes.
- Operate and maintain infrastructure across GCP (GKE, Compute Engine) and on-premises Rancher environments.
- Build and improve monitoring, logging and observability for data services and applications.
- Automate repetitive operational tasks and codify runbooks; document incidents and actions taken.
- Debug and troubleshoot cross-service issues, contribute fixes, and help meet team OKRs.
- Share knowledge via technical documentation and contributions to the engineering blog.
Requirements:
- Practical experience running Kubernetes in production and working with Kafka at scale.
- Experience with cloud (preferably GCP) and on-prem infrastructure management; familiarity with Rancher is a plus.
- Exposure to Flink, Cassandra, Redis or MySQL in production environments is desirable.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for distributed, data-intensive systems.
- Comfortable with automation, scripting and turning runbook steps into repeatable tools.
- Team player with good communication skills and willingness to participate in shared on-call duties.
