Responsibilities:
- Set technical direction and own the roadmap for large-scale ingestion and processing pipelines.
- Lead design and implementation of pipeline features to enable efficient data ingestion, transformation and distribution.
- Normalise and unify multiple internal and external data sources into a consistent, AI-ready format.
- Build interfaces and systems that reduce bottlenecks, improve reliability and meet SLAs.
- Define best practices for observability, alerting, monitoring, failure recovery and latency reduction.
- Mentor engineers, help hire and onboard new team members, and promote cross-team collaboration and shared ownership.
Requirements:
- 8+ years in software engineering with experience developing and operating scalable, complex data pipelines; 3+ years in a technical lead or architect role.
- Deep knowledge of modern pipeline architectures and DAG-based orchestration (e.g., Airflow, Flyte, Ray).
- Strong understanding of distributed processing frameworks, pipeline optimisation and data governance considerations.
- Proven ability to design reliable ingestion systems for high-volume sensor or partner data.
- Experience mentoring engineers and working with interdisciplinary teams.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering or related technical discipline.
- Nice-to-have: experience with robotics or autonomous-vehicle sensor pipelines, third-party dataset ingestion and compliance frameworks (GDPR, TISAX, ASPICE).
