Responsibilities:
- Own the full ML lifecycle for AML and sanctions models: data collection, preprocessing, model development, deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
- Extract, clean, and profile large transaction and event-based datasets from multiple banking systems.
- Develop and validate statistical and supervised learning models (feature engineering, tuning, evaluation) to detect financial crime.
- Build monitoring, retraining, and MLOps processes (MLflow, Delta Lake) and produce documentation for regulatory/audit needs.
- Collaborate with compliance, product, and engineering teams to deliver production-ready solutions and reports.
Requirements:
- Strong Python and PySpark skills plus advanced SQL; experience with Delta Lake and MLflow is highly desirable.
- Solid background in supervised learning, feature engineering, evaluation metrics, and handling class imbalance.
- Experience with data profiling, data-quality checks, and data modeling for event-driven architectures.
- Familiarity or willingness to learn banking transaction data; ability to create clear model documentation for regulators.
- Agile mindset, strong communication skills in English (German a plus), and experience with Git/code review practices.
