Responsibilities:
- Lead the creation and scaling of the Player Care engineering function; act as the final technical authority for the domain.
- Partner with the Head of Player Care to audit existing systems and define a prioritized technology roadmap.
- Remove SPOFs and build a lean, high-throughput backend pod via metrics-driven hiring and strong onboarding.
- Design and ship event-driven triage pipelines, AI-driven deflection, chat moderation/inference pipelines and fraud automation.
- Implement diagnostics, automation and workflow modernisation to improve agent efficiency and operational throughput.
- Ensure regulatory compliance and manage technological risk across Player Care systems.

Requirements:
- Several years of backend engineering leadership with hands-on system design and experience scaling teams from 1→N.
- Proven experience with stream processing and event-driven architectures (Kafka, RabbitMQ, BullMQ, Redis Streams or equivalent).
- Strong SQL skills and practical experience modernising live-ops, moderation or fraud-detection systems at scale.
- Track record of building high-availability services, automation and performance optimisation in production.
- Excellent stakeholder communication, hiring experience, and the ability to set technical direction without higher engineering management.
