Responsibilities:
- Design, build and scale distributed backend systems and services for AI-native products
- Architect real-time, low-latency APIs and large-scale data processing components
- Implement cloud-native services in Java and manage deployments (AWS, Docker, Kubernetes/ECS)
- Ensure resiliency, fault tolerance, performance and observability for production systems
- Drive end-to-end delivery: design, implementation, deployment, monitoring and incident response
- Lead technical execution: break down complex requirements, assign work, remove blockers
- Mentor and grow engineers; promote best practices and code/design reviews
- Act as primary technical liaison to product and cross-functional teams

Requirements:
- 8+ years professional backend engineering experience
- Strong proficiency with modern Java (17+) and cloud-native architectures
- Experience with AWS, containerization (Docker), orchestration (Kubernetes/ECS)
- Deep knowledge of distributed systems, high-availability design, Kafka/Redis or similar
- Experience building real-time, low-latency APIs and observability tooling
- Proven technical leadership, stakeholder management and mentoring skills
- Comfort operating across teams and making trade-offs in large systems
