About the role
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement and operate cloud-native, scalable Java services and distributed systems focused on reliability and performance.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automation for deployment, monitoring, alerting and incident response (Jenkins, ArgoCD, etc.).
- Implement infrastructure-as-code and configuration management (Terraform, CrossPlane, Packer, Ansible) to support reproducible environments.
- Drive capacity planning, performance analysis and remediation to meet SLOs/SLIs and scale targets.
- Lead incident response: triage production issues, run post-mortems and implement systemic fixes; participate in on-call rotation.
- Champion security and operational best practices across teams and mentor junior engineers.
Requirements:
- 8+ years of software and DevOps engineering experience with strong Java (Java 8+), and scripting skills (Bash/PowerShell).
- Proven experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud platforms (AWS preferred).
- Hands-on with IaC and configuration tools (Terraform, CrossPlane, Packer, Ansible) and CI/CD systems (Jenkins, ArgoCD).
- Strong Linux fundamentals, observability tooling (Prometheus, ELK or similar), and experience troubleshooting complex production issues.
- Excellent communication skills and experience working in hybrid, cross-functional engineering teams.
