(Senior) Kotlin / Java Software Engineer - Banking Platform (m/f/x) at Scalable GmbH

Responsibilities:
- Design and implement backend services for a new banking platform using Kotlin/Java and Spring Boot.
- Build event-driven, loosely coupled architectures to integrate with external financial partners and core banking systems.
- Develop REST/GraphQL APIs, ensure scalable deployments via Docker, CI/CD and infrastructure as code (AWS/Terraform).
- Translate business requirements into technical solutions, focusing on reliability, testability and observability.
- Participate in architecture reviews, code quality practices, and production troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with product, academics, and engineering teams to deliver secure, compliant financial features.

Requirements:
- University degree or equivalent and substantial backend development experience (5+ years preferred).
- Strong skills in Kotlin/Java, Spring Boot, Docker and event-based/asynchronous architectures.
- Experience with AWS, Terraform, RESTful API design and scalable system design.
- Familiarity with CI/CD, test automation, and cloud-native deployment patterns.
- Strong analytical and communication skills; experience in financial services is a plus.
- Commitment to producing well-architected, documented, and secure code for high-availability systems.
