Responsibilities:
- Design and implement backend services for payments, banking processing, and CFD trading.
- Write reusable, testable, secure, and efficient Node.js/TypeScript code with focus on low latency and high availability.
- Integrate internal and third-party systems, ensuring robust error handling and observability.
- Define and maintain server-side logic and central database schemas to support business workflows.
- Develop and maintain automated tests and participate in code reviews and CI processes.
- Investigate, triage, and resolve production incidents; provide recommendations to prevent recurrence.
- Collaborate in Agile teams to estimate work, participate in planning, and deliver features iteratively.
Requirements:
- At least 5 years of professional experience building backend systems with JavaScript/TypeScript and Node.js.
- Deep understanding of asynchronous programming patterns, concurrency, and associated pitfalls.
- Experience designing database schemas and integrating multiple data sources.
- Knowledge of scalable application design principles and performance optimisation.
- Familiarity with automated testing strategies, unit tests, and CI/CD toolchains.
- Proficient with Git and common Node.js frameworks (Express, Koa, Hapi) and tooling.
- Beneficial: experience in financial services, microservices, Docker, Kubernetes, GraphQL, and logging/monitoring tools.
