Responsibilities:
- Design and implement latency-sensitive Rust services that process high-frequency financial data.
- Build and maintain real-time streaming pipelines and event processing with strong observability.
- Implement correct, testable financial logic with strict error handling and performance guarantees.
- Profile and optimise CPU, memory, and network usage; run benchmarks and improve throughput and latency.
- Collaborate on API design, data models, system architecture, and operational readiness.
- Contribute to documentation, tests, and runbooks to ensure reliability and maintainability.
Requirements:
- University degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong Rust expertise: ownership, lifetimes, async, concurrency, and robust error handling.
- Experience building production high-throughput, low-latency systems and streaming pipelines.
- Familiarity with Docker, AWS, Terraform, and distributed system design principles.
- Skills in profiling, benchmarking, and diagnosing performance and backpressure scenarios.
- Excellent systems thinking, analytical skills, and clear communication with cross-functional teams.
- Experience with domain-driven design and producing testable, well-documented code; AI-assisted tooling is a plus.
