Responsibilities:
- Design, implement and scale distributed backend services for high-throughput data ingestion and real-time APIs.
- Own end-to-end delivery: design, implementation, deployment, monitoring and iteration of features.
- Build cloud-native Java services focused on reliability, performance and scalability (Java 17+ preferred).
- Integrate with data systems (Kafka, Redis, SQL) and ensure low-latency, high-availability operation.
- Work with containerization and orchestration tooling (Docker, Kubernetes/ECS) and manage AWS deployments.
- Improve observability, CI/CD pipelines and automate operations; contribute to infrastructure as code and GitOps practices.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product, infra and frontend teams; mentor peers and drive best practices.

Requirements:
- BSc/MSc in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years professional backend engineering experience with production services at scale.
- Strong proficiency in Java (17+) and experience with distributed systems (Kafka, Redis, SQL databases).
- Proven experience designing low-latency, highly available services and scaling them to millions of users or high throughput.
- Familiarity with cloud-native architectures (AWS), containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes/ECS).
- Experience with observability, CI/CD, IaC and a pragmatic approach to reliability and failover design.
- Strong communication skills, cross-team collaboration and a drive for continuous improvement.
